Karachi, March 25, 2025. A significant academic event took place at the university’s audiovisual center, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Chair, Karachi University, and the Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute of Language Engineering, Hyderabad. This MoU aims to facilitate the exchange of research materials related to “Latifiyat.” As per the agreement, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Chair will provide all available research materials in text form to the Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute of Language Engineering. The MoU was signed by Prof. Mohammad Saleem Memon, Director Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Chair, University of Karachi & Mr. Amar Fayaz Buriro, Director Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute of Language Engineering, Hyderabad.
The shared materials include encyclopedias on the life, philosophy and poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, soft copies of Shah Jo Risalo published by the Chair, copies of Ganj Sharif, and research papers from Kalachi Research Journal. This collaboration is expected to enhance the accessibility of Sindhi literary and linguistic resources through advanced language models of AI.
