He appreciated the collaborative approach taken by the management, emphasizing the importance of engaging academia in such transformative initiatives.

In addition to Sindhi WordNet, Mr. Bhurgri was briefed on several other pioneering projects undertaken by the Institute. These include the Sindhi Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tool, which is designed to convert printed Sindhi text into editable and searchable digital formats; the modelling of Sindhi Text-to-Speech (TTS) system, a revolutionary project aimed at making Sindhi content accessible to visually impaired individuals by converting written Sindhi text into natural-sounding speech. The Sindhi Corpus Development project, involving the creation of a comprehensive linguistic database to support computational analysis, language modeling, and AI-driven applications, was also highlighted. Furthermore, the Institute’s Digital Sindhi Dictionary stands out as a user-friendly and comprehensive digital repository of Sindhi words and their meanings, accessible globally. Regular collaborations with universities and research institutions further underscore the Institute’s commitment to promoting Sindhi language research and development.

At the conclusion of his visit, Mr. Abdul Majid Bhurgri praised the Institute’s dedication to preserving and advancing the Sindhi language through modern technology. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in ensuring the language’s relevance in the digital age. “This Institute is not just a workplace; it is a beacon of hope for the Sindhi language,” he remarked.
