
Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute of Language Engineering (AMBILE) had the honor of welcoming two distinguished media personalities on Monday, 23rd June 2025. Renowned Sindhi journalist Mr. Mahesh Kumar and celebrated documentary filmmaker Mr. Aziz Sanghur visited the institute to gain firsthand insights into AMBILE’s groundbreaking work in the field of Sindhi language technology and digital linguistics.
Mr. Amar Fayaz Buriro, a key representative of AMBILE, warmly welcomed the guests and personally briefed them on the institute’s vision, mission, and major ongoing projects. He conducted a detailed tour of the AI Engineering and Data Processing Sections, where the visitors were introduced to the institute’s dynamic teams of AI engineers, computational linguists, and data analysts.
The guests were informed about several flagship initiatives, including the Sindhi WordNet, AI & NLP tools, and speech technologies such as text-to-speech and speech-to-text systems tailored specifically for the Sindhi language. They also gained insights into other parallel projects related to the grammar-based parsing of Sindhi text, lexical annotation, and digitization of classical Sindhi literature.
Both Mr. Mahesh Kumar and Mr. Aziz Sanghur showed deep interest in AMBILE’s technological efforts and appreciated the dedication of the research teams involved. Mr. Sanghur, known for his impactful cultural documentaries, expressed his intent to visually document AMBILE’s work in future projects. Mr. Kumar emphasized the importance of showcasing such innovative linguistic institutions in mainstream media to inspire wider awareness and support for language preservation.
