On July 9th, 2024, the Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute of Language Engineering inaugurated an orientation workshop and training session focused on the Sindhi WordNet System. This event was organized for the students of the Sindhi and IT departments of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shaheed Benazir Abad.
The workshop was led by Mr. Amar Fayaz Buriro, Director of the Institute. During the training session, Mr. Buriro underscored the significance of the WordNet Project for the Sindhi language, emphasizing the methodologies for data sorting and inputting. He elaborated on how these processes will be employed in various Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects, with the goal of leveraging AI for the advancement of the Sindhi language.
The students exhibited keen interest and enthusiasm throughout the session. They expressed their happiness at being provided with such a valuable platform, which allows them to contribute to and develop innovative projects in language engineering.
Mr. Amar Fayaz Buriro extended his heartfelt gratitude to the administration of the Sindhi and IT Departments of the university for recognizing the importance of this forward-thinking project and for sending their students to participate in this academic endeavor.
