
On October 11, 2024, Mr. Akbar Laghari, the former Vice Chairman of the Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute of Language Engineering, ex-Secretary of the Culture Department Government of Sindh, and a distinguished literary figure, critic, and intellectual, paid a visit to the institute in Hyderabad. Mr. Amar Fayaz Buriro, the Founder and Director of the Institute, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guest and accompanied him on a detailed tour of the institute’s building.
During the visit, Mr. Laghari had the opportunity to interact with the developers working on various projects related to the digitalization of the Sindhi language. He was highly impressed with the state-of-the-art infrastructure of the institute, its modern interior design, and the complete automation of its operational processes. He expressed his deep satisfaction, noting that despite having visited numerous institutions globally, the professionalism, efficiency, and aesthetic elegance of the Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute stand out as truly remarkable. He added that witnessing this cutting-edge structure and the progressive work being done was not only commendable but also a matter of pride.
Mr. Amar Fayaz Buriro briefed Mr. Laghari on the ongoing projects at the institute, particularly focusing on the development of AI models aimed at preserving and promoting the Sindhi language—one of the oldest languages of the Indus Valley Civilization and often referred to as the mother of many of today’s international languages. The Director highlighted the institute’s goal to leverage modern technology to protect this rich cultural heritage for future generations.
In response, Mr. Akbar Laghari expressed his admiration for the institute’s achievements and pledged his full support for its future endeavors. He assured that he would provide any assistance required to help the institute in its mission to promote the Sindhi language on both national and international platforms.
