On the directives of the Honorable Minister for Education and Literacy Department, Sindh, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, a high-level technical meeting was convened at the Committee Hall of the Sindh Textbook Board (STBB), Jamshoro on 16th April, 2026.

The session was attended by the Director of Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute of Language Engineering (AMBILE), IT Expert and Language Engineer, Amar Fayaz Buriro, who was specifically invited as a technical expert, along with the IT team of STBB and senior academic stakeholders. The proceedings were conducted by Mr. Khalid Hussain Vighio, Deputy Secretary, STBB.

The meeting centered on two strategic agenda items:

  1. Re-engineering of the STBB Textbooks Portal
  2. Development of an offline mobile application for free textbooks

During the session, AMBILE presented a comprehensive technical framework proposing the transformation of the existing textbooks repository; currently dependent on image and PDF formats into a fully text-driven digital content architecture.

This proposed architecture is designed to enable:

  • Machine-readable and structured educational content
  • Efficient indexing and advanced search capabilities
  • Metadata-driven content organization and semantic structuring
  • Cross-platform interoperability and scalable digital integration
  • Accessibility compliance for assistive technologies

In his expert briefing, Amar Fayaz Buriro emphasized that transitioning to a standardized text-based system would ensure that official textbook content becomes directly consumable by modern AI systems, including intelligent agents and Large Language Models (LLMs). Such transformation would significantly enhance the accuracy, reliability, and usability of educational data, while eliminating inconsistencies associated with image-based text extraction.

It was further highlighted that this text-centric digital repository would not only improve user experience and accessibility for students but would also serve as a foundational dataset for Sindhi language integration into global AI ecosystems, thereby strengthening its computational presence and digital sustainability.

A key outcome of the meeting was the acknowledgment that the proposed text-based infrastructure would enable the seamless development of an offline mobile application as a direct byproduct, ensuring equitable access to educational resources for students across Sindh, particularly in low-connectivity regions.

In consultation with AMBILE, a comprehensive phase-wise implementation roadmap was formulated, covering content transformation pipelines, validation mechanisms, system migration strategies, and application integration frameworks.

The meeting concluded with the decision to organize a technical orientation workshop for relevant teams and stakeholders to ensure effective and timely implementation of the proposed roadmap.

Subsequently, Amar Fayaz Buriro held a follow-up meeting with the Chairman STBB, Mr. Pervaiz Ahmed Baloch, and the Secretary STBB, Dr. Nusrat Parveen Sahito, to formally brief them on the technical outcomes and strategic direction of the initiative.

This initiative marks a significant transition towards a text-centric, AI-compatible digital education ecosystem in Sindh, positioning educational content not only for enhanced accessibility and usability but also for integration into emerging global AI and language technologies.
