On December 21st, 2021, the Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute of Language Engineering had the honor of hosting esteemed literary figures from Waseb, including Dr. Ashu Lal, Mr. Jahangir Mukhlis, Dr. Mumtaz Kalyani, Mr. Azhar Kalyani, and Mr. Akram Gurmani. During their visit, Mr. Amar Fayaz Buriro, Director of the institute, provided a comprehensive briefing on the advancements of ongoing projects.
The delegation expressed keen interest in the institute’s work and conveyed their enthusiasm to collaborate. They specifically requested assistance from the institute in the digitization of the Saraiki language.
During the meeting, the participants were presented with messages from the Honorable Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Chairman of the institute, and Mr. Abdul Majid Bhurgri, Co-chairman. These messages highlighted the institute’s commitment to linguistic advancement and the importance of such collaborations.
It was agreed that the guests would send their workers to the institute to receive proper training in language engineering. This initiative aims to equip them with the necessary skills to contribute effectively to the digitization and preservation of the Saraiki language.
